What does this role actually pay in Gujarat?

Gujarat isn't one market — Ahmedabad, GIFT City, Sanand and Surat hire differently and pay differently. Pick a role, an experience level, and a hub to see the directional band, how the hubs compare, and how the state stacks up against the metros.

Role

The baseline this tool is anchored on — Gujarat's IT and GCC hiring, where public salary reporting is thickest.

Bands are a directional composite of public 2026 reporting, not an AxureOne survey. The fresher (≈₹3.5–6 LPA) and mid-to-senior (≈₹20–42 LPA) anchors come from public Gujarat salary commentary; the two middle bands are interpolated between those anchors. Role and hub adjustments are coarse relative-positioning multipliers reflecting what public reporting says about premiums and discounts — they are not measured pay gaps.

Midpoint ≈ ₹20.00 L · Software Engineer · 6–10 yrs · Ahmedabad

The band widens sharply here because pay starts tracking scope and skill scarcity rather than years served.

Metro references are directional and exclude equity, which dominates senior total compensation at top product companies and GCCs. They also ignore cost of living — a lower Gujarat number can be the better real income.

Directional only — built to calibrate a conversation before it happens, not to quote in a negotiation. The same title genuinely pays very differently across a GCC, an IFSC unit, and a services firm. Read the full disclaimer below.

How to read the bands

Hubs, bands, and what moves your number.

Why benchmark by hub instead of by city?

Gujarat isn't one hiring market — it's several specialised ones. GIFT City hires finance and fintech to global standards; Sanand and Dholera hire semiconductor and auto/EV manufacturing; Vadodara runs on pharma, chemicals and engineering; Surat and Rajkot on textiles, diamonds and engineering manufacturing. Benchmarking against "Gujarat" as a single average hides the thing that actually moves your number.

Why a band rather than a single figure?

Because a single figure would be a fiction. Within any role and experience level, real pay spreads widely — and the spread grows fastest at senior levels, where compensation tracks scope and skill scarcity far more than years served. A band tells you the ballpark and, just as usefully, how wide the ballpark is.

What moves a number to the top of its band?

Scarcity, mostly. Skills that Gujarat's newer sectors are competing nationally for — IFSC and fintech capability, semiconductor process engineering, cloud, data and cybersecurity — pull toward the upper quartile because employers are bidding against metro budgets for a thin pool. Generalist experience in a well-supplied function sits closer to the midpoint.

Why is the role list so short?

Because credible public salary data for Gujarat covers a handful of role families, not hundreds. A long dropdown would look more authoritative and be considerably less honest. We'd rather ship six role families we can actually defend than sixty we can't.

How often does this change?

The underlying public reporting is 2026-dated, and Gujarat's market is moving quickly — the semiconductor build-out and GIFT City's growth are both actively reshaping demand. Treat the bands as a snapshot of public reporting at the time of writing, not a live feed, and re-check anything that matters before you act on it.

Please read before you rely on this

This is a directional composite — not a salary survey.

  • These bands are composited from public 2026 reporting. They are not an AxureOne survey, not primary research, and not a market rate you can hold an employer or a candidate to.
  • The fresher and mid-to-senior bands are anchored to publicly reported Gujarat ranges. The two middle experience bands are interpolated between those anchors — an editorial derivation, not a surveyed figure.
  • Role and hub adjustments are coarse relative-positioning multipliers reflecting what public reporting says about premiums and discounts. They are not measured pay gaps between specific employers.
  • Every figure is rounded to the nearest ₹10,000 deliberately, so the tool never implies a precision it doesn't have.
  • Metro comparisons exclude equity entirely, which dominates senior total compensation at top product companies and GCCs — and they ignore cost of living, which often favours Gujarat in real-income terms.
  • Sales and business-development bands show fixed pay only. Incentive and variable components are frequently a material part of total earnings in those roles.
  • The same job title genuinely pays very differently across a GCC, an IFSC unit, and a services firm. Use this to work out what to ask about — never to decide what someone is worth.
