Recruitment agency in Rajkot
Rajkot is the industrial heart of Saurashtra, and its hiring market is defined by manufacturing rather than services. The district's Industries Centre reported 1,02,635 MSMEs registered on the Udyam portal employing 5,70,304 workers, split roughly evenly between manufacturing and services.
The engineering base is dense and unusually small-unit. TERI's cluster study counted around 14,000 MSME units across Rajkot, Metoda and Shapar, of which roughly 5,500 are engineering units — but among the city's ~700 grey-iron foundries, only about 10 are large-scale and 50 medium-scale. That shape governs how hiring actually works here.
A second layer is arriving. In January 2026 the Vibrant Gujarat regional conference for Saurashtra and Kutch was held at Rajkot, alongside the inauguration of a GIDC medical device park and the announcement of 14 greenfield smart GIDC estates.
What hires here
The sectors actually doing the hiring in Rajkot.
Foundry & casting
The largest employer base in the city. TERI counted about 700 grey-iron foundry units producing roughly 1,500 tonnes of castings a day and employing close to 30,000 people directly. Output feeds pump sets, electric motors, compressors, machine tools and agricultural machinery.
Machine tools & CNC
Conventional, NC and CNC metal-cutting and forming machines, exported to Italy, Germany, the UAE, the US and beyond. The Ministry of MSME's district profile recorded 325 functional units; a CMTI regional centre sits on the NSIC campus as a shared technology facility.
Auto components
Connecting rods, pistons, crankshafts, camshafts, liners and air-cooled blocks — the district profile notes more than 300 distinct automotive parts are made here, with roughly 50 units supplying OEMs directly and the rest serving the replacement market.
Submersible & centrifugal pumps
The fastest-grown cluster of the lot: TERI traced it from 10 manufacturers in 1994 to about 350 by 2010 and around 1,000 by 2015, driven by falling groundwater tables nationally. Manufacturers as far away as Coimbatore source components here.
Bearings
Ball, taper roller, needle roller and cylindrical bearings — the most capital-intensive Rajkot cluster on the district profile's plant-and-machinery figures, which makes it the one most able to carry higher-paid technical roles.
Medical devices (emerging)
GIDC's sector-specific medical device park at Nagalpar was inaugurated in January 2026. Reported acreage differs between secondary sources and no employment figure has been published, so treat hiring volume here as unproven rather than promised.
Where it happens
The corridors and estates that matter.
- Lodhika GIDC (Metoda)By far the district's largest estate — 424 hectares and 1,534 plots on the Ministry of MSME's 2012 estate table, with almost all allotted and in production. Jyoti CNC and Gopal Snacks both sit here.
- Aji GIDCThe core in-city engineering and foundry estate: 83.96 hectares, 536 plots, fully allotted with no vacancy recorded. One of the largest foundry concentrations in the cluster.
- Shapar–VeravalThe out-of-city foundry, forging and vehicle-assembly belt on the Rajkot–Gondal highway. Atul Auto's three-wheeler plant and Rolex Rings' forging facility are both here.
- Bhaktinagar GIDCSmall at 8.83 hectares but the district's highest-priced estate per square metre, and home to the Rajkot Engineering Association — the gateway to a 1,100-member employer base.
- Kuvadva GIDC53.83 hectares and 285 plots, and one of the named geographic foundry concentrations ringing the city.
- Hirasar corridorRajkot International Airport at Hirasar — Gujarat's first greenfield airport, opened 2023 — roughly 30–36 km out on the Ahmedabad highway, and now the district's newest development axis.

What it pays, and what it takes
Hiring in Rajkot, honestly.
Pay, directionally
- The reliable public anchor is statutory: Gujarat's minimum wages effective 1 April 2026 are ₹512.50/day unskilled, ₹522.50 semi-skilled and ₹534.50 skilled in Zone I, each including ₹60.50 VDA.
- Nominal pay sits well below Ahmedabad, and so does cost. Numbeo's crowd-sourced comparison puts Ahmedabad's cost of living 25.5% higher including rent, with rents 53.4% higher — though the Rajkot side rests on only 17 contributors, so treat it as directional.
- Per-role public data is genuinely thin. Indeed's Rajkot 'Engineer' average rests on three reported salaries last updated in December 2023, and PayScale's manufacturing-engineer figure on eleven profiles from March 2023 — enough to show the Tier-2 discount exists, nowhere near enough to benchmark a live offer.
- A better signal than any city average: the district profile's plant-and-machinery investment per unit, which is highest in bearings and auto components. Capital intensity is what tells you which sub-sector can carry a senior technical salary.
Directional bands compiled from the public sources listed below — not an AxureOne survey. Treat them as a starting point, never a quote.
What actually decides a hire here
- Most mandates are single-vacancy and promoter-led. With the employer base this small-unit-heavy, there is usually no in-house HR function, the decision chain is short, and offers move on conversation rather than a structured interview loop.
- Skilled-trade scarcity here is officially recorded, not anecdotal. The Ministry of MSME's district profile names it cluster by cluster — 'shortage of labour, skill development' for machine tools, 'scarcity of highly trained man power' for bearings and auto components, and a lack of qualified technical talent in foundries.
- Rajkot loses people to Ahmedabad and Surat on headline salary. The honest counter is real disposable income — materially lower rent and cost of living — but that argument only lands if you make it explicitly, rather than simply offering a smaller CTC.
- Registrations overstate hiring. District data shows more enterprises registered in 2022 than 2021 but fewer workers employed, so expect demand concentrated in replacement and specialist roles rather than bulk expansion.
